Mary Stanford Lifeboat House

I am a second cousin of Charles Southerden who was lost in the Mary Stanford lifeboat disaster of 1928. I am interested in any information people may have about this incident or any of the events which took place afterwards. Many thanks.

Hi Paul. I wondered whether you had any lucky with your enquiry. I am a parish councillor for Rye Harbour and have started a “Friends of the Mary Stanford Lifeboat Station” as we are trying to save the building. My email address is [reveal email]

    Hello Jacqueline,
I have sent an email but not sure it reached you.
I am delighted that somebody is trying to save the lifeboat house and would like to help in any way I can.
I am coming to Rye in late June.

please let me know what help you require.
    Many thanks and good luck
    Paul Kennedy
