FRIENDS OF THE MARY STANFORD LIFEBOAT
Dear Jacqueline
I hope you don’t mind me contacting you. I got your email address from the Icklesham Parish Council website.
I am hoping to make a film about the Mary Stanford tragedy that I hope will become an important and powerful tribute to the crew who lost their lives, their families and the work of the RNLI. It is critical for me that the film is accurate and sensitive and that the characters are as true to life as possible. So firstly I wondered if there is insight you can give me into the tragedy and any contacts that you think might be useful for me to speak to. It would be wonderful if the film could be ready for the 100th anniversary in 2028.
I am hoping that the film could also raise funds to help you restore the Lifeboat house. I understand that you are heading up a project to restore it?
Yours sincerely
Adrian Wheeler
