Can anyone tell me if you can currently access the beach from the end of the path through the nature reserve? It was closed for works last time I tried to walk down to the sea and I wanted to direct some visitors down there if it is open. With many thanks.

In autumn and through the winter months the gate that you mention is often closed as contractors are moving shingle back to the western beaches. However if you walk a hundred metres to the right you can easily go down to the beach by avoiding their fenced off piece of beach.
