Rye Harbour Discovery Centre is marking the 96th anniversary of the loss of the Mary Stanford lifeboat crew. Join us for an illustrated talk about the tragedy of November 15,1928, from Dr Roy Brigden, followed by maritime songs from the HogEye Men shanty duo.
Tickets £10pp, see link below to book.
The Mary Stanford Lifeboat House on the beach at Rye Harbour Nature Reserve stands as a memorial to the courageous crew who lost their lives in one of the worst disasters in the RNLI’s history. Event proceeds will support Rye Harbour Nature Reserve and Discovery Centre, as well as the campaign to save this important building.
Our café will be serving refreshments and we’re a wheelchair-friendly venue.
