Hi, Can anyone tell me if I am able to fish the harbour any time I want or do I need to buy a permit from a local shop? If I can’t fish what would be the closest place from there?

You can fish in the estuary or off the beach for free. You can fish in the private lakes at Rye Harbour but need to buy a ticket from the shop.

What sort of bait or lures do you reccommend when fishing from those public spots? (I’m an amateur!)
